The City of Stratford’s 2025 Waste and Recycling Collection Schedule is coming soon.
It includes helpful information, schedules and dates related to waste, recycling and green bin collection, and will be distributed in this Thursday’s Marketplace.Starting Monday, Dec. 23, copies will also be available at City Hall, the Romeo Street landfill site, the Rotary Complex and Agriplex.

Shoppers and merchants are reminded that under the Retail Business Holidays Act, both Christmas Day – December 25, 2024 and New Year’s Day – January 1, 2025, are among the days annually when most stores must be closed.
The Act, administered by the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services, exempts some retail operations, including but not limited to, gas stations, gardening centres and flower shops.

As a result of the ongoing postal strike, the City of Stratford’s Tax Division is not able to mail out the personalized December update letters outlining the January-to-June payment amounts for those on a monthly pre-authorized payment plan for property taxes.
For those who would like to have this information now, your letter will be available to be picked up at the main floor reception desk at City Hall (1 Wellington Street), starting Friday, December 13, 2024.

The City of Stratford has recently been made aware of a possible scam attempt involving text messages about unpaid parking tickets. Similar scams have been circulating in communities across Canada.
Please note that the City of Stratford would never send a text message about an outstanding parking ticket, and parking tickets cannot be paid through texts.
