City of Stratford Launches New Property Tax Calculator Online

So where exactly do your tax dollars go?

The City of Stratford has just launched a new easy-to-use online tool that will tell you.

Just select your property classification (residential, commercial, industrial, etc.) and type in the assessed value of your property from your assessment notice or recent property tax bill.

The tool will then calculate how much of your property taxes go toward the various programs and services the City provides. It’s broken down into the day-to-day expenses to run the municipality (Operating), as well as the expenses related to the City’s tangible assets or infrastructure (Operating).

The City of Stratford collects education taxes on behalf of the Province, and distributes them to the local school boards.  These amounts are also included in the calculation
