The Treasury Division is responsible for all property tax related matters, along with accounts receivable.

- Tax billing twice yearly, due dates 4 times per year, for approximately 12,000 accounts
- Maintain monthly automatic payments for over 3,000 taxpayers
- Issue revised and supplementary tax billings
- Maintain assessment roll with current ownership and address changes
- Process reductions as authorized by the Assessment Review Board (ARB) and the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC)
- Provide information daily to banks, real estate, lawyers and homeowners
- Requisition for payments-in-lieu of taxes
- Collection of arrears
- Initiate tax sale
- Provide information regarding legislation and regulations pertaining to the Municipal Act as it relates to taxation
- Sort and wrap coin collections from the meter and transit departments
